The staff at Big Bear Frontier were very helpful, accommodating, and courteous. Our family was on a vacation to Big Bear for the first time in a few years. When checking in to our room it was as advertised on the site as will as positive reviews. Very clean, lots of amenities, and good space. We reserved a room in the hotel portion. Everything was fantastic until the room we were in on the very end of the building nearest the lake we began hearing a high pitched noise from the outside. Also had some gymnast children above us. The loud high pitched sound was the main issue that continued for the rest of the night. In the morning I informed the manager "Robert" the entire issue showing a recording of the sound, which they were going to check. I asked if we could be switched to another room. Robert and his staff did better than that put us in a cabin on the property, and did not charge the difference because of what happened. We were very pleased how everything worked out. The cabin was amazing as was the hotel room minus the sound. The property is beautiful with lake views and shore walking access. Thank you Robert and Staff, we enjoyed our stay and are grateful for your service. This made our stay and trip very relaxing and memorable. We "Highly recommend BIG Bear Frontier"! Just ask questions if needed of staff and study the site when choosing the room or cabin option that best suites you. We look forward to visiting again! Regards The Snyder Family

Great Location and Comfortable Stay, But Customer Service Needs Improvement We recently stayed at the Big Bear frontier in a Deluxe Queen Room for three nights. The location was absolutely amazing—walking distance to the village, and the well-kept grounds added to the charm. The room itself was comfortable and well-stocked with amenities, though smaller than the pictures had suggested. While we appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as the stocked amenities, we were only provided with one towel each for the two of us and just a roll and a half of toilet paper. While we understood we could request more from housekeeping, it would have been nice if this were better anticipated. Our main issues were with the service. When we brought our used towels to the lobby for an exchange, we were told that due to Covid policies, we needed to leave them in the room and request maid service. While we understood the policy, it was inconvenient given how small the room and bathroom were, leaving little space for extra clutter. The interaction with the front desk was disappointing—particularly with the front desk staff member who was abrupt and abrasive. When we asked for additional towels, she asked for our room number to track the request, which is reasonable. However, she assumed our room number incorrectly, seemingly based on my wife being Asian, and referenced another Asian guest’s room. This assumption was unnecessary and unprofessional. Additionally, we purchased clean-burning wood for $10 in cash from the front desk. Upon reviewing the final bill after checkout, we noticed a $10 charge for the same wood applied to our credit card and taken from our deposit. While the issue was relatively minor, it left a bad impression as it should have been caught and corrected before we were charged. Overall, the location and the quality of the room were definite highlights, but the issues with customer service and billing were disappointing. With some improvements to the front desk experience and better attention to detail, this hotel could truly shine.

Want to give a special shout out to Kimball at the front desk? She was a great help to us finding a room on a short notice and found us a perfect spot to stay for the night close to the lake. We would definitely enjoy returning again just to stay at this spot. Thanks to her!

This is our second time staying here, and let me say our first experience was great but this second time around not so. We're able to check in early, our t.v in our bedroom had a blue line in the middle of screen, called office they sent Maintenance he replaced it, but also show him the drain plug in tub wasn't staying shut down, he fixed that as well. The beds were outdated, carpet had stains throughout cabin, it was cozy but needed some improvements. We tried using stove right side burner wasn't working, after using tub my daughter had the jets on relaxing in there but when she came out alot of sand was sitting in tub. You have to hold the toilet handle down all the way to get full flush. Shower head was loose about to fall off but I tighten it.kitchen table was in front of fridge not allowing it to open. After starting our fire, we tried turning on heater and smoke alarm was going off, called front office she said you have to use one or the other, not both at same time. So we did we turn heater off. Our last night at 2am smoke alarm was going off, I remove battery and it stopped! But couldn't go back to bed we headed out at 5:30 am left our keys in room since there wasn't a drop box. I wish our experience was as good as the 1st time but wasn't.We're going to find another location next year.

Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful property. Our room was clean and updated. We felts like we were in a nicer hotel. The location was perfect. Walking distance to the village. We still drove but it was nice to have the option. We will be staying here again!!! Also love the ducks!!!!!
