My friend and I stayed three nights and had two rooms on the first floor. This is a very basic hotel for those who are looking for a bargain to stay in the Santa Cruz area. It’s easy driving distance from good restaurants and places such as UC Santa Cruz, The Wharf, Redwoods State Park and more. The neighborhood is sketchy, which is not the hotel’s fault, but here’s your warning if you’re planning to walk to a restaurant or anywhere else in the area. There are homeless people on the streets in every direction from the hotel. That said, if you’re committed to just using the hotel as a homebase, it’s perfectly fine. The front desk manager is INCREDIBLY KIND and clearly wants his guests to feel comfortable and have a good experience. The rooms are very basic, but they are clean. The Wi-Fi is awful – it kicks you off CONSTANTLY. So if you were coming here to work, which I doubt anyone would, it would be a problem. Also, there is nowhere to plug in a cell phone next to the bed. That is pretty incredible to me in 2025, because it’s such an easy fix, and a minimal expectation in any hotel. If you are ONLY looking for a clean and quiet hotel room to sleep in after a day of exploring, this place is fine. If you have an expectation of anything more than that, then you should definitely look for another hotel.

Stayed a single night here in September 2024. Got the king bed room option. Room is ok, but don’t expect anything glamorous. Has a small swamp cooler for your AC/Heating needs (which wasn’t terrible just extremely noisy), and the bathroom is very small. The shower stall is literally 3’ x 2’. It is TINY. I could barely turn around during my shower. For the price it’s a decent place to crash out for a night, but don’t expect luxury by any means. Staff is very nice and room service for extra towels, pillows was prompt and considerate.

We stayed here for 2 nights (June 2024) and would highly recommend. The location is nice and central and the guest service was fantastic. Upon our arrival, our mini-fridge wasn't working properly which we needed to use to keep our baby's formula cool. After raising the issue with the front desk, the staff person promptly fixed the fridge and went above and beyond providing additional options for us to keep our formula cold, including offering the use of the staff cooler and fridge. Rooms were also clean with regular housekeeping. Would stay here again!

For the price, a pretty nice place. Nothing fancy, but clean and functional. The only issue is the WiFi. It's a disaster. It has a login system that is harder and more restrictive than any I have other encountered, and then it purposefully kicks you out every few hours. I've never experienced this at any other hotel, and it really ruins the experience in 2024.

For the price, it served its purpose. You can tell someone tried their best to make it nice but still a little sketchy. The room was clean, a/c was loud and had a funky smell, so I opened the window instead. Now for maid service, I stayed two nights and put the sign for maid service and all she did was flip the sign around to "do not disturb." Would I stay again , possibly.
