After knowing about the Dream Inn for more than 50 years, I finally stayed there and it didn’t disappoint. It was fabulous! The room was very nice but the view and sounds were even better. It was very relaxing listening to the waves break and the sea lions bark. The location of the inn was perfect for walks along the bluffs, into downtown and along the wharf. The meal at Jack O’Neill restaurant was delicious and a treat to look out onto the beach and wharf. I’m looking forward to another stay.

This place is so special to me! I’ve stayed here for many special occasions and most recently for my birthday last weekend. I was looking forward to ordering a lava flow from the pool bar but it was closed due to the weather. Jacob surprised us and brought out a round of lava flows during my birthday dinner at the hotel restaurant which was so special to us! All staff were gracious and accommodating, the room service and housekeeping were exceptional, the rooms were comfortable and clean, and being so close to the ocean with views and sounds of the waves is the best feeling. I’m looking forward to many more stays here in the future.

A terrific and unique experience. Very refreshing to stay at a first-class property that is true to its local roots and not loaded with common corporate branding. The decor, historical displays, furnishings and details are unlike anything you will see elsewhere.

We had an absolutely lovely weekend getaway at the Dream Inn. The Service at check-in was the best we have had in a long time, attentive and friendly. The room had a cute retro vibe with a stellar view of the ocean. Breakfast (included in our rate, but not all rates) was lovely and offered more great views. We would happily return.

I recently stayed at Dream in Santa Cruz and overall, it was a delightful experience. The ocean view from my room was breathtaking, and the attention to detail in the room itself truly exceeded my expectations. It was clear that a lot of thought went into creating a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. However, I did encounter a couple of drawbacks during my stay. The front desk staff were not as friendly as I had hoped, which put a slight damper on the check-in experience. Additionally, I noticed that the area outside the hotel had a significant number of homeless individuals, which was a bit concerning. Despite these issues, the stunning view and well-appointed room made my stay enjoyable. I would rate Dream in Santa Cruz four stars and recommend it for anyone looking for a beautiful getaway, with the caveat of being aware of the surrounding area.
