We’re lucky to have this nature preserve on the Central Coast. The views on these trails are spectacular and are all very well maintained. With a variety of routes to choose from, for hiking or biking, this should be on the list of places to visit, on the coast. The park does have operating hours, so be sure to plan accordingly. Lots of parking up top, with overflow parking down the hill. Get out and check it out!

This is a great hike for everyone, including families with children. Our kids loved it, and so did we! This was one of the most stunning, shorter trails that I've ever done. The view of the ocean, along with the natural beauty of the preserve, makes for an amazing time. The trails are not hard either. My wife and I carried our 30+ pound children in our backpacks the entire hike. After the hike, you're in proximity to a plethora of amazing restaurants, too, so you can enjoy delicious bites and beer on the beach before heading back home. We highly suggest everyone do this trail.

This super beautiful nature preserve overlooking Pismo Beach is one of my favorite hikes in SLO county. There are quite a few options for trails, some medium to low difficulty, some higher difficulty. Gorgeous flora and fauna that draws in lots of pollinators. The only advice I will give is watch out for rattle snakes or snakes if any kind honestly. It’s very easy for them to blend in to the landscape. Also, HORSE FLIES— I was bit by one the last time I went and it was very uncomfortable for weeks. The bite is finally healed, but I have a scar from it despite tending to it. I didn’t even know flies could bite, I was shocked that it hurt as bad as it did when it actually bit me. Weird as hell lol. Maybe bring a bug repellant spray or something, or just keep an eye out lol I would say it’s pet and kid friendly, there are a few things to know about that though; there are few shaded areas but they’re pretty far into a lot of the trails. I’m pretty sure there are ticks there so check your little ones (human and non human). Definitely bring water and a snack— there’s a few beautiful overlooks and little picnic tables either a view of the ocean— perfect way to enjoy a little picnic! Bathrooms are nice and clean, consistently and meticulously checked by employees. It’s just all around beautiful. I love it here and it never gets old!

Great mixture of wide and narrow trails. Perfect for my semi reactive dog that doesn't like getting close to others. Trail we were on was freshly line trimmed. Wildflowers everywhere! Good signage
